Educational & Professional Qualifications (varies by discipline):
For Sports Coaches (Table Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Football, Athletics, Swimming, Cycling, Volleyball, Badminton):
- 1st Preference (50 Marks): Diploma in Sports Coaching from SAI, NSNIS (Patiala), Duration 1 year
- 2nd Preference (40 Marks): International/National Medal winners in respective discipline along with Secondary School education
- 3rd Preference (30 Marks): B.PED/M.PED with specialization in respective discipline
For Chess Coach/Instructor:
- 1st Preference (60 Marks): FIDE Instructor (FI) License
- 2nd Preference (40 Marks): National Instructor (NI) License (License should be active and candidate should not own any chess academy/centre)
For Gym Instructor:
- 1st Preference (50 Marks): Diploma in Gym Instructor/B.Sc Exercise Science/Diploma in Fitness and Wellness
- 2nd Preference (40 Marks): Certified Personal Trainer/Fitness/Wellness Trainer certification + Secondary School education
- 3rd Preference (30 Marks): Level 3 certification and above, B.PED/M.PED + Gym Instructor experience
For Cricket Coach:
- 1st Preference (50 Marks): Cricket coach certification + highest level certification from recognized institute + cricket tournament participation

Merit Selection Criteria (Total 100 Marks):
- Educational Qualification: 50 Marks
- Physical Fitness Test/Specialized Test: 50 Marks
Physical Fitness Test Events (For all coaches):
- 50 meters sprint (5 marks)
- Standing Broad Jump (5 marks)
- Overhead Back Throw - Medicine Ball (5 marks)
- 1000 meters Run (5 marks)
- Physical tests for Gym Instructor (50 marks total)
Specialized/Trade Tests:
- Sports Coaches: Practical class conduct, technique demonstration, student engagement, injury handling (30 marks)
- Gym Instructor: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, first aid (50 marks)
- Chess Coach/Instructor: Demo class (40 marks)
Salary & Benefits
Monthly Consolidated Remuneration: ₹32,000 per month
Working Days: 06 days a week (Monday is holiday)
Leave: 2 days per completed month (No leave encashment for unutilized leave)
TA/DA: As per non-official member rules when posted outside regular location
Nature of Appointment: Purely contractual, initially 1 year, extendable to maximum 3 years based on satisfactory performance

Duties & Responsibilities
- Impart training to sports persons of different levels with strict adherence to coaching timings and punctuality
- Conduct talent search programmes in different islands
- Maintain all records relating to selection and training of sports persons
- Render services for maintenance of sports infrastructure
- Accompany teams to different level tournaments
- Perform additional duties assigned by senior officers of A&N SSC and Department of Sports, Youth Affairs
