Preferably a resident of Bihar (original resident of Bihar State)
Educational Qualifications (as on 01-08-2025)
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree with Physics as a subject from any recognized university
Minimum Marks:
General/EWS/BC/EBC candidates: Minimum 50% marks
SC/ST candidates: Minimum 45% marks
Degree must be from a government recognized university

Physical Standards
Height Requirements:
Unreserved, BC - Male candidates: Minimum 165 cm
EBC, SC/ST - Male candidates: Minimum 160 cm
All Female candidates: Minimum 155 cm
Chest Measurement (Male candidates only):
Unreserved, BC, EBC - Male: 81 cm (without expansion), 86 cm (with expansion), minimum 5 cm difference
SC/ST - Male: 79 cm (without expansion), 84 cm (with expansion), minimum 5 cm difference
Female candidates: No chest measurement required
Weight:
Female candidates: Minimum 48 kg
Selection Process
Phase 1: Preliminary Written Examination (100 marks, 2 hours)
40 multiple choice questions on General Knowledge and Current Affairs
60 multiple choice questions on Physics
Qualifying marks: Minimum 30%
Shortlisting: Top 20 times the number of vacancies for Main Exam
Phase 2: Main Written Examination
Paper 1: General Language Knowledge (100 marks, 90 minutes)
50 marks - General Hindi
50 marks - General English
Minimum qualifying marks: 30
Paper 2: Physics (100 marks, 3 hours)
100 multiple choice questions
Minimum qualifying marks: 33%
Negative marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer
