Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Degree: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Environmental Science from a recognized university
- Degree Status: Candidate must have completed the degree and obtained the certificate (provisional certificate acceptable)
- Not Eligible: Result-awaited, final semester appeared, or Ph.D. submitted candidates are NOT eligible
Job Requirements
- Field survey and data collection on manufacture, use, import/export of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)
- Collection and analysis of environmental and product samples and waste samples for POPs using GC and GC-MS
- Experience in handling environmental sampling and analytical equipment

Employment Terms
- Position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project (Review and Update of NIP on POPs)
- Will NOT confer any right or claim for regularization or absorption against any CSIR/CSIR-NEERI post
- Tenure of project staff shall not exceed 6-7 years in CSIR-NEERI and other CSIR laboratories as per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024
- Engagement may be terminated at any time without assigning reasons by giving one-month notice
- One-month notice or one-month remuneration in lieu of notice required if candidate wishes to leave
Experience Rules
- Experience will be counted from the date AFTER acquiring minimum educational qualification
- Dissertation/Thesis work during academic period will NOT be counted as experience
- Time spent in acquiring higher qualification will NOT be counted as experience over essential qualification
Project Staff Guidelines
- No upgradation of project staff in same or new project - candidates must apply fresh
- Engagement under new project only after acceptance of resignation from previous project
- Selection depends on project tenure/requirement, may be extended or curtailed
- Project staff shall maintain confidentiality of project findings and associated intellectual property
- CSIR reserves right to cancel or withdraw offer if discrepancy found in candidature
