About Agnipath Scheme

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Date of Birth Range: Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply
  • Age at Time of Enrollment: If selected through all stages, the upper age limit at the time of actual enrollment should not exceed 21 years

Marital Status (Very Important)

General Disqualifications

Narcotic Drugs & Substance Abuse (ZERO TOLERANCE)

  • Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) banned under NDPS Act 1985 is a rejection criterion
  • Agniveers found in possession, storing, distributing, or consuming such drugs after enrollment shall be liable for disciplinary action including dismissal
  • IAF follows ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY to alcoholism and substance abuse

Body Tattoos

  • Permanent body tattoos are generally NOT permitted
  • Exceptions: Tattoos only on inner forearm (inside elbow to wrist), back of hand, and tribal tattoos as per custom may be considered
