About the Position

Para Legal Volunteers are required to work in their respective areas to provide legal awareness, legal aid and assistance to victims, serve as liaison between people and the District Legal Services Authority, and perform other legal service duties as assigned by the authority.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a citizen of India
• Must be a resident of Muzaffarpur district
• Must be literate (Matriculate/10th pass preferred)
• Must be physically and mentally fit
• Must have good moral character and interest in social service
• Must not have been convicted by any court
• Must not have any pending criminal or civil case against them
• Must submit a character certificate not older than 6 months
• Can be Male, Female, or Transgender

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years (as on 01.01.2026)
• No upper age limit mentioned

Who Can Apply?

Teachers (including retired), retired government employees, senior citizens, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, doctors, students, NGO members, self-help groups, Jeevika members, and other individuals (except advocates) interested in voluntary social service can apply.

Remuneration & Benefits

• Daily remuneration: Rs. 750/- per day
• Important: This remuneration is only applicable for days on which work is assigned by the District Legal Services Authority

Reservation

Since Para Legal Volunteers work voluntarily without compensation and this is NOT a government job appointment, NO RESERVATION is applicable for SC/ST/OBC or other categories.

• Attach an affidavit stating no court cases are pending against you and you have not been convicted
