TARANG Project Overview

Title: Design of Terahertz Wireless Communications Systems for 6G

Description: The project intends to develop enhanced hardware technologies to combat propagation loss and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop low-complexity beam training and resource management for 6G wireless communications systems.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Essential)

JRF Position: M.Tech./M.E. degree in one of the following specializations:

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
  • Electrical Engineering (EE)
  • Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I)

Minimum Marks Required:

  • General (GEN)/General-EWS/OBC-NCL Category: Minimum 60% aggregate marks OR 6.5 CGPA at both UG (Bachelor's) and PG (Master's) levels
  • SC/ST/PwD Category: Minimum 55% aggregate marks OR 6.0 CGPA at both UG (Bachelor's) and PG (Master's) levels

Desirable Qualifications

  • Valid GATE or NET score (not mandatory but preferred)
  • Solid understanding of digital communication, probability theory, optimization, and wireless communications
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB or Python
  • Experience with simulation tools
  • Prior research or industrial experience in relevant fields
