State Bank of India (SBI) invites online applications from retired officials of SBI, other PSBs and RRBs for engagement as Financial Literacy Counsellors (246 posts) and FLC Directors (11 posts) on contractual basis. Registration open from 05.02.2026 to 26.02.2026.
State Bank of India (SBI) has released an official notification for the engagement of Retired Bank Officials on contractual basis. A total of 257 vacancies are available across the country for Financial Literacy Counsellors (246 posts) and FLC Directors (11 posts). Interested and eligible retired officials can apply online through the official SBI website before the registration deadline of 26.02.2026.

Eligibility Criteria
For FLC Counsellors: Retired Officers of Scale I and up to Scale-IV from SBI / Other PSBs / RRBs. Retired Clerical staff from SBI may be considered if required number of officers are not available.
For FLC Directors: Retired Officers of Scale III & IV from SBI / Other PSBs / RRBs
Essential Qualifications: Proficiency in local language (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) and working knowledge of computers
Specific Requirement: Candidates must possess a Smart Mobile Phone and knowledge of computer is essential
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 60 years
Maximum Age: 63 years (as on 31.01.2026)
Candidate must have been born not earlier than 01.02.1963 and not later than 31.01.1966
No relaxation in age for reserved category candidates

Important Notes on Salary
Monthly remuneration is all-inclusive and fixed for 3 years
No TA/DA provided
No medical facilities or reimbursement during contract period
Income tax/TDS will be deducted as per prevailing rates
Contractual period will not be reckoned for superannuation benefits/PF/Bonus/Gratuity
Contract Period & Terms
Minimum Duration: 1 year
Maximum Duration: 3 years or officer attaining age of 65 years, whichever is earlier
Initial Contract: May be for 2 years, renewable for 1 year based on performance, subject to age limit of 65 years
Notice Period: Either party may terminate with 30 days notice or payment in lieu thereof
Leave Entitlement: 30 days per year (for 1-year contract period)
During engagement, retired officers will not take up any assignment with other organizations
Selection Process
Step 1: Shortlisting - Bank will shortlist candidates based on fulfillment of minimum qualifications and experience. Mere fulfilling minimum qualification does not vest any right for interview.
Step 2: Interview - 100 marks. Qualifying marks to be decided by the Bank.
Step 3: Merit List - Circle-wise category-wise merit list prepared in descending order of interview scores. In case of tied scores, candidates ranked by age in descending order.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
FLC Counsellor
Identify different target groups (farmers, SHGs, senior citizens, school children, etc.) for financial education
Conduct at least one camp per month for each target group along with 2 digital camps
Topics: Charter of Customer Rights, Cyber Security, Periodic KYC updation, Inoperative accounts, AePS
Use digital channels and innovative communication methods for financial literacy dissemination
Support to Lead District Managers (LDMs) & District Coordinators
FLC Director
Manage all issues related to management of FLCs
Quarterly review of performance of Counsellors
Arrange audit of FLC books by Chartered Accountant
Handle administrative functions as instructed by relevant departments
