Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
General Age Limit: 18 to 33 years
Date of Birth: Between 02-01-1993 and 01-01-2008 (inclusive)
Age Relaxation (Category-wise)
OBC-Non Creamy Layer (NCL): 3 years relaxation
SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
Ex-Servicemen: Up to 8-10 years (after deducting service length)
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 13-15 years relaxation
Female candidates (Widow/Divorced/Separated): 35-40 years
Course Completed Act Apprentices: Up to 3-8 years relaxation (maximum)
Candidates who commenced apprenticeship before 25 years: Age limit up to 35-40 years
Educational Qualification
Different posts require different qualifications (See Annexure-A for specific post requirements)
Most Level 1 posts require: 10+2 (Intermediate/High School), ITI, or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification from recognized Board/Institute/University as on the closing date (02-03-2026)
Candidates awaiting final results are NOT eligible to apply
Medical Standards
Medical Standard A-2: Distant Vision 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (Stringent)
Medical Standard A-3: Distant Vision 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power up to 2D)
Medical Standard B-1: Distant Vision 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power up to 4D)
Medical Standard C-1: Distant Vision 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses
Important: Candidates with Lasik surgery are not eligible for A-2 & A-3 medical standards
Rs. 250/- minus bank charges (after deducting bank charges)
Payment Mode: Online only - Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI
Important: Fee refund only for candidates who appear in CBT
Recruitment Process
Stage 1 - Computer Based Test (CBT): Single stage CBT (Shortlist at 3:1 ratio). Negative marking @ 1/3rd per wrong answer. Marks normalized for multi-shift CBTs.
Stage 2 - Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Shortlist at 1:1 ratio based on CBT merit and PET qualification
Stage 3 - Document Verification (DV): Verification of educational qualifications, age, caste/category certificates, medical standards, and other credentials
Stage 4 - Medical Examination: Candidates must pass prescribed medical fitness tests for their opted posts
Final Empanelment: Based on merit, medical fitness, post preference, and vacancy availability
How to Apply
Visit the official website of your chosen RRB (Links available on para 24.0 of detailed CEN)
Step 1: Create an Account - Fill name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth as per SSC/SSLC/Matriculation certificate
Step 2: Verify Identity - Use Aadhaar/Digilocker authentication (recommended)
Step 3: Fill Application Details - Complete all required information
Step 4: Upload Documents:
Live photograph (as per specifications)
Signature in running handwriting
SSC/SSLC/Matriculation certificate
Educational qualification certificates
Caste/Category certificates (if applicable)
Step 5: Select Railway and Posts - Choose one RRB/Railway Zone and indicate preferences for posts
One RRB Only: Candidates can apply to only ONE RRB/Railway Zone. Multiple applications will lead to rejection and debarment
One Application Per RRB: Only one application per RRB for all notified posts. Multiple applications = rejection and debarment
Cannot Modify After Submission: Details in 'Create an Account' form and chosen RRB/Railway Zone CANNOT be modified after account creation
Modification Fee: Rs. 250/- for modification of other details (05-03-2026 to 14-03-2026)
Original Documents: All certificates in original must be produced at Document Verification
Valid Mobile & Email: Candidates must have active mobile number and valid email ID throughout recruitment
Exam Center: CBT/PET center allocated based on technical/logistical feasibility. No change requests entertained
Banned Items in Test Center: Mobile phones, calculators, watches, bags, food items, electronic gadgets NOT allowed
Photo & Signature: Live photograph and running handwriting signature required. Blurred/illegible submissions will be rejected
Malpractices: Using unfair means = lifetime debarment from all RRB/RRC examinations and Railways
Right to Appointment: Selection does NOT confer automatic right to appointment. Final offer subject to eligibility and vacancy availability
Posting: Selected candidates posted as per Railway requirement. No transfer request entertained for 5-10 years of service
Free Travel: SC & ST candidates eligible for free Sleeper Class railway pass to examination venues
Nationality: Indian citizens, Nepal/Bhutan subjects, Tibetan refugees (before 01-01-1962), or Persons of Indian Origin from specified East African countries (with certificate of eligibility)
