Job Description & Responsibilities
The Research Associate will work under the supervision of Prof. Partha Roy and will be responsible for the following:
- In Vitro Model Development: Develop and optimize cell-based models of bipolar disorder using mammalian neuronal cell lines and iPSC-derived neurons
- Culture & Differentiation: Establish and maintain optimal culture conditions and differentiation protocols for neuronal cells and stem cells
- Drug Screening: Conduct chemical/drug screening using developed cell models for bipolar disorder drug development and therapeutic discovery
- In Vivo Studies: Develop animal (rodent) models of bipolar disorder and conduct behavioral and neurobiological characterizations
- Functional Analysis: Perform functional analysis of bipolar disorder progression and its regulation at both genetic and protein levels
- Molecular Analysis: Conduct molecular studies including gene expression analysis, protein analysis, and signaling pathway characterization in vitro and in vivo
- Therapeutics Development: Contribute to the development of novel therapeutics and nutraceutical-based interventions for bipolar disorder
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed laboratory records, data analysis, and prepare reports for project milestones and publications
