Eligibility Criteria
Professor
Eligibility (a or b):
Option (a): Eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline, with minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals, and research score of 120 as per criteria. Minimum 10 years teaching experience in University/College as Assistant/Associate/Professor or equivalent research experience at University/National Level Institutions with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.
Option (b): Outstanding professional with Ph.D. degree in relevant/allied/applied disciplines from academic institutions/industry, with significant contribution to knowledge, and 10 years of experience.
Associate Professor
Good academic record with Ph.D. degree in concerned/relevant/allied disciplines
Master's Degree with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
Minimum 8 years teaching and/or research experience at level equivalent to Assistant Professor
Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals with research score of 75

Eligibility (a or b):
Option (a): Master's Degree with 55% marks in concerned/relevant/allied subject from Indian University (or equivalent from accredited foreign University) AND must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or equivalent accredited test (SLET/SET)
Option (b): Ph.D. degree from foreign University/Institution with ranking among top 500 in World University Ranking (QS/THE/ARWU)
Special Requirements by Department
Biochemistry and Biophysics:
Professor: M.Sc. in Biochemistry with Teaching/Research experience in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Immunology
Associate Professor (3 posts with different specializations): M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Physiology/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology for medical biochemistry focus; M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Physiology/Biophysics for electrophysiology focus; M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biophysics/Zoology for proteomics and biophysics focus
Environmental Science:
Professor & Associate Professor: M.Sc. in Environmental Science/Botany/Zoology/Earth Science/Geology/Geography with specialization in ecology, environmental biology, toxicology, microbiology, or related fields
Assistant Professor: Open specialization with environmental field experience
Library and Information Science:
All Posts: Resource Description and Content Designation specialization

Marks Relaxation
5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/Differently-abled at Graduate and Master's level
5% relaxation on 55% minimum qualifying marks (to 50%) for Ph.D. holders with Master's degree before September 19, 1991
No marks relaxation for Differently-abled candidates in Physical Education discipline
Age Limit
Upper Age Limit (Assistant Professor): 40 years as on 1st January 2026
SC/ST Relaxation: 5 years (Max age: 45 years)
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Relaxation: 3 years (Max age: 43 years)
Candidates with Ph.D. degree in same/relevant subject as per UGC Regulations 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirement. Additionally, candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11th July 2009 may be exempted if specific conditions are met (regular mode Ph.D., external examination, open viva, publications, conference presentations).
